"Bling
Free Vol 3" Sampler
DJ Graffiti has excelled in different musical
pursuits througout his life. A jazz percussionist by trade,
Graffiti (Martin Smith) performed in the world renowned
Montreaux Detroit Jazz Festival. By building upon his
classically trained musical foundation and strong scholastic
background, Graffiti has developed proficient skills in many
areas of Hiphop. More than a DJ, attorney, producer, emcee,
journalist and businessperson, Graffiti is a politician. No,
not the shady scheming kind, but a man with a plan for the
future and the necessary drive and willpower to bring his
goals to life.
In his own words, "I have a vision in my head of
where I see Hiphop going. Right now, most of the major
influences on the Hiphop generation are fed corporately from
the outside. Ultimately, I envision a Hiphop community that is
extremely self sufficient. Hiphop heads will become a force to
be reckoned with because we will have a united front of
individuals who were born into Hiphop culture -- Hiphop
lawyers, Hiphop doctors, Hiphop teachers and Hiphop owners all
working together with the common thread being a love of
Hiphop. I feel all of the different things I do are necessary
for moving the current state of Hiphop toward a point where it
is Bling Free. That's where it shines on its own."
In addition to his musical achievements,
Graffiti is also an accomplished businessperson with
experience in the community and the boardroom. As CEO of Bling
Free Records, a graduate of the University of Michigan
Business school, and the University of Michigan Law School,
Graffiti brings a wealth of experience to the game from every
angle.
Currently, the Bling Free Mixperience series is
helping Graffiti to make his mark in the mixtape game on a
worldwide level. By some he has been called the "Underground
Mixtape King of Michigan". Look out for DJ Grafiti making
moves near you.
